![]() ![]() “We only fail when we quit trying,” Paul told us. “I feel so good going to work now,” we were told. That remark reminded me of my teaching job, when I could physically see the success when a student suddenly realized what they were doing. He admitted the first few days were a bit rocky, but one day he called with his voice full of pride. Sooner or later, with a little effort, there is little that comes before us that we can’t master if we decide not to be a quitter. All of us can encourage through something as small as a little pat on the back, a compliment when something has been mastered by another. All of us can be the example for others to follow. When I became a teacher, I passed on this man’s wisdom. That will make you a WINNER.” I wanted to win, for him. ![]() Get busy! Use that spare time to accomplish something positive. “If you have time to complain,” I was told, “you have time to do something productive. Eskin had no place in his life for complainers. When Dan Eskin interviewed each of his students so he could get to know them better, he got after me. I’ve just found 200 ways that aren’t the answer I’ve been looking for.” My favorite teacher said many times, “Winners never quit, and quitters never win." One of the most famous inventors in history, when told that his 200th try was a failure, said, “No. Every one of us has many opportunities in our lives to QUIT. ![]()
